In this webinar we will explore the world of youth sports, its culture and the impacts it has on collegiate athletics. Dave King, Director of Athletics at Eastern Mennonite University, wrote a book about the subject: Overplayed: A parent’s guide to sanity in the world of youth sports. And while the original intent of his book was focused on parents, Dave has recognized many impacts on collegiate athletics.

Dave King, Director of Athletics
Eastern Mennonite University

David A. King returned to his alma mater in 2005, coming from Lancaster Mennonite School in Lancaster County, Pa., where he served as an athletic director and principal of its middle school program. Before coming to EMU, King had served at Lancaster Mennonite School since 1991. Before that, he was executive director of Camp Hebron, Halifax, Pa., five years and was athletic director and health and physical education teacher, 1977-86, at Locust Grove Mennonite School, Lancaster.

He has coached junior high boy’s soccer and basketball and Junior Varsity high school girl’s basketball. He was a founder of the Commonwealth Christian Athletic Conference and currently serves on the executive committee of the District III Committee of the PIAA and chair of boys and girls soccer for District III. He was also chair of girls soccer for the Lancaster Lebanon League which LMS competes in for all sports.
