PoA061 | Shana Levine, Lewis & Clark College

Shana Levine was appointed the Lewis & Clark Director of Physical Education & Athletics on July 1, 2014. Levine came to Lewis & Clark after serving six years as the Associate Director of Athletics at Washington and Lee in Lexington, Virginia.

While at Washington and Lee, Levine was responsible for coordinating compliance regulations within the NCAA, ODAC, and institutional guidelines, oversight and management of NCAA compliance and eligibility, assisting in event and game management for all university special events and athletic home contests, coordinating athletic facility scheduling, serving as the liaison with campus housing and dining facilities, and organizing and preparing grant requests and awards for the NCAA, ODAC, and other organizations. She also had oversight for several of the University’s athletic programs.

Prior to Washington and Lee, Levine spent three years with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). She began as an enforcement services intern in 2004 and was promoted to Coordinator of Membership Services and then was named the Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Reinstatement in October 2005. She then acted as an Associate Director of Membership Services/Division III Governance Liaison.

Before joining the NCAA, Levine earned a law degree from the University of Pittsburgh and was admitted into the Indiana Bar in 2005. While in law school, she served as an assistant women’s soccer coach at Carnegie Mellon University from 2001-2004 and served as a compliance and student life intern at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Athletics from 2003-2004.

Levine earned a bachelor of arts in biology from W&L in 2001, where she was a four-year letterwinner and a team captain for the soccer team. As a member of the Generals’ defense, Levine racked up 15 goals and seven assists, en route to garnering All-Region, All-State and All-Conference honors over her career.
